上月MJ生日期间，歌迷聚集到了印第安纳的加里，见到了小迈克尔的小学老师。
蔡杰斯夫人，已经有93岁了，她说迈克尔是个好学生，非常开朗和外向，很受其它孩子欢迎。她说他那时有一点口吃，当兴奋时就会更明显。有一次，她有将近两个星期没在学校里看见他了，那时她没有意识到小迈克尔过着双重生活，白天是学生，晚上是歌手和表演者。当2周后他最终回到学校，她非常恼火，认为他逃学了。
“迈克尔，我有两个星期没在学校里见到你了。你到哪里去了？”
“蔡杰斯......夫......夫人，请......请别生气，我一......一直在......在纽约！”
Mrs. Childress, who looks amazing to be 93 years old (I would have taken her to be about 70) said Michael was a good student, a very outgoing and extroverted child who was very popular with the other kids. She said he spoke with a slight stammer in those days (I had read this before, in one of her interviews) and his stammer would get worse whenever he was excited. Once, she didn’t see him in school for nearly two weeks. She didn’t realize at the time that little Michael was living a double life, as a student by day; a singer and performer by night. When he finally returned after two weeks, she was somewhat annoyed, thinking he had been playing hooky.
“Michael, I haven’t seen you in school for two weeks. Where were you?”
M-m-Mrs. Childress, p-p-please don’t be mad, I was all, allllll the way up in..in New York!” |
