Star World to showcase the magic of Michael Jackson

The special Michael Jackson Number Ones which airs on 30 December at 10 pm celebrates the king of pop's achievements and examines his artistic genius. The special tells a story of an artist's growth and development. Michael Jackson, with the help of such noted directors as John Landis, Herb Ritts, John Singleton, and Martin Scorcese, has single-handedly invigorated the world of music videos, which he has always viewed as short films. Featured will be new takes on Jackson's classic songs by combining the digitally restored original music videos with live performances that have been filmed over the years from his Off the Wall and Thriller eras. Also included will be his History tour footage and behind-the-scenes footage from Wanna Be Starting Something. Jackson will also perform his new single, One More Chance off his latest new album. Some of the other songs performed include: Rock With You, Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal and Black or White. In addition, top names in the music industry, including Beyonce Knowles, Missy Elliott, Dick Clark, Mary J. Blige, Carson Daly, Shaggy, Savion Glover, Pharrell Williams, Wyclef Jean, Quincy Jones and Jennifer Lopez talk about Jackson's music and videos and his impact on pop culture.
