MICHAEL JACKSON PHOTO EXHIBITION IN LONDON, from Feb. 17th to April 1st 2006
From Feb. 17th to April 1st 2006, Proud Galleries and Anda's Spirit will present a photo exhibition devoted to Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson is the biggest selling artist of all time. Born in 1958, his rapid rise to fame from the age of four, in the Jackson Five, has led to phenomenal success and an entire life spent in the public eye. In the 70’s and 80’s Jackson’s music, dancing, live shows, and videos revolutionised pop. During the last two decades however, his bizarre private life has increasingly become the focus of unwanted media attention.
Now, as the world waits to see how the “King of Pop” will re-launch his career, Proud Central announces an exhibition of photographs by acclaimed music photographers Lynn Goldsmith and Harrison Funk that will chart in over 60 images an extraordinary music career, and life in the public eye.
Lynn Goldsmith’s photographs focus on the beginning of Michael Jackson’s solo career, from 1980 to 1985 – covering the early days of his collaboration with Quincy Jones, the success of Off the Wall after 1979, and the release of Thriller in 1982 – still the biggest selling album of all time.
As Michael Jackson’s official photographer between 1984 and 1995, Harrison Funk witnessed key moments of the height of his career. Granted unparalleled access by Jackson, Harrison Funk travelled with him on the 1984 Victory tour, which sparked the greatest demand for concert tickets in history, and the 1987-1989 Bad tour.
Both photographers caught on film fascinating private and public moments in the life of Michael Jackson.
MICHAEL JACKSON at Proud Central will present the work of Harrison Funk and Lynn Goldsmith together for the first time, and will be a timely and intriguing look at the meteoric rise, and astounding heights of Michael Jackson’s career so far.

What they think of Michael Jackson:
“Working with Michael was one of the most amazing creative experiences of my life. He has a way of pushing an artist creatively like no one else.” - Harrison Funk
“Michael is not like anyone else I have ever met. Do you know any 5 year old child who could wake up on Saturday mornings and watch themselves on the TV as an animated cartoon? Michael did. No one should expect him to behave as a normal person. He did not grow up in the same world as us. Besides, what is the point in
expecting a genius to behave as a normal person?” - Lynn Goldsmith
"Michael Jackson has given to the world what few artists have done. His music is often about love and peace, and what could be more fitting than a website devoted to love sponsoring such an important retrospective of photographs of the height Jackson's of success." - Henri Zimmand, Anda’s Spirit
