Jim Moret, Chief Correspondent for Inside Edition, commented on CNN's “Larry King Live Show” that Joe abused his son Michael. If Joe was insinuating that he wanted to raise the kids, Debbie Rowe may tell the judge “I don’t want him raising these kids”. This could be what is bringing Rowe into this custody debate, according to Moret.
Moret said the kids are old enough to have an opinion and the judge will listen to them. The judge will look at Debbie Rowe and Katherine Jackson and weigh the benefits to the kids.
There will be a hearing Monday and Rowe’s attorneys said she will be there. “It is a very interesting case”, “Extra” correspondent Carlos Diaz said. “The fact that she is the biological mother holds weight in California, but these kids have nothing to do with her. She basically gave these kids to Michael Jackson.”
Marc Schaffel, friend of Michael and then Debbie, said Rowe was a very nice and caring person. “She was completely different than what the public perceives,” Schaffel said. She was Michael’s friend for 30 years and even married the King of Pop.

With regards to Michael Jackson’s death, Schaffel said he did have conversations with Michael about that. “I don’t’ want to get into too much of what he said, but I can tell you that one of the fears that Michael had sometimes was: We were in New York City quite a bit working on one of his albums “Invincible”… (Michael said) I don’t want to end up like John Lennon.” He said that his longtime friend has had some scary situations with fans jumping out at him.

Some family members have suggested that foul-play was involved in their brother and son’s death. When asked about a conspiracy to kill Michael Jackson, Schaffel didn’t think it was likely. “It would have to be followed up with the simple fact of who was benefiting.” Basically no one would benefit.
