Judith Hill，出生于洛杉矶一个音乐世家，她的母亲是从日本移民过来的，在1970年的一场音乐会上与其父亲相遇。Judith Hill在她4岁时，发表了自己的第一首歌《GOD HAS MADE》，但在回忆起这段童年时，Judith Hill却非常痛苦，“我遭遇了最严厉的批评，而且我知道我确实糟透了。人们试图抹杀我是一个天才，而我却没有一点准备。”后来，Judith Hill进入加州的Biola大学跟随约翰•布朗宁学习作曲，而古典音乐成为她主修的课程。在大学期间，Judith Hill获奖无数，她的教授也认可了其异于常人的天分，并激励她攻读硕士学位，然而她却更热衷于唱歌。

毕业后，她前往法国为巨星蜜雪尔•波纳雷夫伴唱。后来她又回国，接下来的几年时间，Judith Hill将时间都花在了写歌，以及寻找自己独特的声音上。但接下来的一年对她来说却并不容易——她失踪了，Judith Hill断绝了一切与外界的联系，但当她再次出现在人们面前时，她的音乐却变得更加强大，并获得了空前的成功。此番在杰克逊葬礼上率群星登台亮相，Judith Hill的唱功毋庸置疑，但最主要原因是，Judith Hill正是杰克逊生前指定要在50场演唱会中的主伴唱人。
