I hereby agree that any materials that I submit via this site (the “Submission Materials”) shall be "works made for hire" for Sony Music Entertainment (“SME”), with SME owning all rights therein. If the Submission Materials are considered not to be a "work made for hire," I irrevocably assign the Submission Materials to SME (including, without limitation, the copyright and all other rights), worldwide, in perpetuity; and SME shall have the right to make any and all uses thereof (in any media now known or hereafter devised), without any further compensation to me. I hereby waive all so-called “moral rights” or any equivalent in connection with the Submission Materials. If such assignment is held not to be valid, I hereby grant to SME a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide license to use, copy, sublicense, adapt, transmit, publicly perform, create derivative works, distribute, display and otherwise exploit (including without attribution or credit to me), the Submission Materials.
I acknowledge that I have received good and valuable consideration for the rights I have granted to SME, including the opportunity to have my Submission Materials appear in the Michael Jackson “Behind The Mask” video (the “Artist Video”); and that I have no ownership and/or interest in the Artist Video.
I represent and warrant that I am above the age of majority in my territory of residence.
I understand and agree that I shall have no right of approval over the Artist Video or any exploitation of the Artist Video or my Submission Materials.
I hereby forever release SME from (and agree not to bring any proceeding against SME for) any liability, loss, demands, claims or causes of action, whether now known or unknown, relating to the use of my Submission Materials.
I represent that I have the right and ability to grant the above authority and that SME’s use of my Submission Materials will not violate the rights of any third parties.
I understand and agree that nothing herein requires SME to use the Submission Materials in any way, and that I am not entitled to the return of any Submission Materials.
I hereby represent that I have read the foregoing and fully understand the meaning and effect thereof, and intend to be legally bound by this digital signature, represented by the inputting of my initials, as my legal signature for this Release and Authorization.
