原唱是一個女子團體叫＂The Supremes＂：50年代中期成軍之初，原取名Primettes，成員包含Diana Ross、Mary Wilson、Florence Ballard及Barbara Martin四位，剛開始她們只是合音天使，後來更名The Supremes，才獨立錄製專輯，並套換時尚亮眼裝扮，將熱情、歡愉獨特魅力，展現在她們活潑流暢的歌曲中，這時Barbara離團，剩下The Supremes三人組合機制，Diana Ross也成為團中主唱及靈魂核心。1964年推出“Where Did Our Love Go”留下第一組登上英國金榜冠軍的美籍女子團體光榮紀錄。表現突出的Diana Ross在1967年，將團名改為Diana Ross & The Supremes，經Motown老闆Berry鼓勵下，於1969年離開The Supremes，展開獨唱單飛生涯。
