"Muslim" Michael Jackson invited to visit Pakistan
Islamabad | December 02, 2005 3:10:07 PM IST
Pakistan's ruling party, the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) has invited US pop singer Michael Jackson to visit the country, as an honour to him for embracing Islam last month.
Congratulating Jackson for becoming a member of the "Nation of Islam" and inviting him to Pakistan, PML leader Kanwar Kutubuddin said that his conversion was a good omen for the Muslim Ummah.
The PML leader further said that he would also invite other people who recently converted to Islam, like Pakistan cricket vice-captain Mohammad Yousuf, to the functions to be held in the honour of Michael Jackson's if he accepted the invitation.
Jackson's conversion was a positive development, especially because it came at a time when Muslims were being criticised by different elements at the international level, The News quoted Kutubuddin as saying. (ANI)
