Singer Michael Jackson has found it hard to keep out of the public eye this year for all the wrong reasons, and he has now been named as the Top Newsmaker for 2005 in a recent poll.
According to poll conductors, Access Hollywood, Jacksons much publicised child molestation trail and subsequent move to Bahrain managed to beat other celebrities such as Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria who came in second, as well as the roller-coaster life of the princess of pop Britney Spears.
Actor Tom Cruise also found it difficult to stay out of the public eye and he came in fourth, followed closely by singer Jessica Simpson whose 3-year married to Nick Lachey ended this year.
