The 48-year-old star has been living at Grouse Lodge in Westmeath where he is masterminding his pop return.
In exclusive camera footage obtained by the Irish Daily Mirror, Jackson is seen dancing and bouncing around the recording studio, working with Black Eyed Peas singer Will I Am. And he talks of how he makes his children Prince Michael, nine, Paris, eight, and four-year-old Prince Michael II (formerly known as Blanket) Flahavan's porridge for breakfast every morning.
He said he leads a "normal" life, walking around the fields and lane ways at his temporary home.
Jackson added: "I've never given up on making music. Ireland has inspired me to make a great album." The footage gives the first unique insight into the reclusive star's life here since he moved to Ireland three months ago.
The interview was recorded by American TV reporter Billy Bush and will run on the Access Hollywood show next week. Bush said:
"Michael's publicist said he would like to meet us alone, no cameras, in his cottage first.
"We agreed, of course, and before long we were seated at a breakfast table in a very cozy, humble stone cottage. Down the spiral staircase he came. First his boots, then his pants... black with a gold stripe down the side, then a velvet jacket with a white T-shirt underneath, then he turned to face us.
"I admit, my pulse was running high. He is a mythical character as atypical and untouchable as can be."
But Bush said when the cameras were turned on, Jackson became anxious. He added: "He was truly torn. He wanted to stay and keep jamming and have some fun but he also wanted to leave before, from his perspective, he got crucified by another TV interview."
The Grouse Lodge Residential Studios boast nine double bedrooms across three cottages and a recording studio. Jackson spends the morning walking around the grounds and playing with his children.
He then sits for hours in the studio each day, working on new songs while a nanny looks after the kids.
The star is living at the hideaway with a team of minders, business advisors and top music producers.
A source revealed: "He's determined to make an amazing album and go on tour again."
"Nobody can take it away from him that he is one of the greatest musicians of all time."
"He wanted to stay and keep jamming but was torn after his last TV interview." |
