It was the early morning of 24th August, beginning of an ordinary day.Outside on the street, people were busy with their everyday stuff. Around the New Voice Theatre in the center of Chengdu city, there appeared quite different an air. Inside the theater, there were many expecting eyes and exciting hearts, waiting for the beginning of a fans' gathering.
But for whom and for what purpose? When questioned, we, all the fans taking part, will be fairly proud to give the answer--it was for the king of pop Michael Jackson, whose birthday is on 29th August and we were to demonstrate our love and support for him and to show people his philanthropic doings through the years.
The 4-hour performance began at 12am and of course, after fans' painstaking preparation and longtime practice, it didn't fail the audience's(all were fans) expectations. As usual, many good dancers danced Michael's classics, such as The Way You Make Me Feel, Smooth Criminal, Bad, Dangerous, You Rock My World. Some sang their beloved great hits to express their love to Michael and all the freinds present. Some of them even composed and performed a play for the audience(this is for the first time). During the 4 hours, one climax came after another and all the fans were in high spirits ,While the most exciting moment came at the end of the carnival when a large, three-layer birthday cake was brought onto the stage. At that minute, everybody was sincerely wishing Michael not only a happy birthday but also a blessed life.
This gathering is definitely a success. Because on the one hand the number of fans is larger than that in any other fan gatherings held in China(not only local fans attended, many fans from other provinces also came to enjoy the great time),and on the other hand it has brought about local sensation and was broadly covered by many paper and TV media. More than that, this gathering is also no ordinary one but quite meaningful a party. We have managed to get onnected with the local SOS and have called on fans to donate clothes or money to them. Following the example of Michael, all the fans present did lend a helping hand to those deprived children.
To other people, we are probably just a group of immature frenzy fans. Whatever they say, we will never stop loving and supporting Michael; however negative the media coverage about him may be, we will still keep our faith in the man we always believe. When the world is more against him, we will love him more and stand closer to him --we truely are such group of people.
That's because we know him,and because we want to know more about him and to learn from him. As Michael's fans, we feel that we are a blesses group,able to hear the most beautiful voice, to enjoy the such poetric and powerful dance and to appreciate so noble a heart.
As we Chinese say, the eye is the window of the heart. From his eyes, what we see is a pure heart of a great man who will boldly face the fight and who will soon get proved innocent to the world. With so many words in our hearts, we would like to simply say to Michael:
You are our angel!
