患上淋巴癌后，马尔克斯近年已少有佳作问世。
凭魔幻现实主义小说《百年孤独》夺得诺贝尔文学奖的马尔克斯（GabrielGarcia Marquez）日前宣布封笔。
据报道，被誉为“魔幻现实主义之父”的哥伦比亚籍作家马尔克斯，现年78岁，作风低调，享受家庭生活，他1999年患上淋巴癌，近年已经甚少动笔写作。
日前，马尔克斯在墨西哥家中罕有地接受《西班牙先锋报》访问时说：“我已停止写作。去年更是我一生中首次连一行字都没有写的一年。凭我的经验，要发表新小说绝无困难，但读者会知道我心已不在此。”
因7年前患上淋巴癌，马尔克斯近年写的小说数量锐减。读者整整等了10年，才在2004年看到他最后一本小说《回忆我忧伤的荡妇》，但该书却被《纽约时报》评为“漫不经心”之作。
2002年，马尔克斯曾出版回忆录三部曲《幸存者的故事》的第一部，但第二、三部也似乎因他创作欲下降而出版无期。
马尔克斯1982年凭《百年孤独》夺得诺贝尔文学奖，其名作还包括1985年发表的《爱在瘟疫蔓延时》。近几年，马尔克斯在写作减产的日子里，十分享受和妻子的家庭生活，前美国总统克林顿还曾探访过他。
